These mills ARE NOT ‘decorative only’. I can’t understand why they’ve been listed as such. I’ve owned four of them, of different sizes, for many years and use them daily. They are solid, well made mills.
I have two of this size and use one for peppercorns and the other one for dried whole spices and herbs (currently rosemary, but I’ve used it to grind allspice, cloves, cardamom). Never, ever a problem in all these years, even in very humid summer weather.
They are made of solid bronze and thus the exterior will stain if you don’t take the time to protect it by applying a coat of polyurethane, but the grinding mechanism needs no maintenance at all.
These mills produce a very fine, uniform grind.
Excellent product. Great to see it at a very affordable price here on Amazon.
TIP: The base comes off and is great for mixing dry rubs: Grind some pepper and then add the other spices, snap back in place and shake well to mix – one fewer little bowl to wash.

This is an awesome pepper grinder. I have gone through several pepper grinders in the past and they have all broken in the end. I’ve had this Turkish Coffee Grinder for about 8 years now and it is still going strong. It can take a beating, I have dropped it many times on my hard tiled floor. Might even get another one to grind my spices in.

I got this as a pepper grinder and it does a fantastic job. It is durable and attractive. The bottom bolt gave us a little trouble at first until we realized that it was a little crooked. It’s all good now.
BTW These work FAR better than actual “pepper grinders” and they last forever.
