Its principal produce may be posh chocs and loopy juice premium lager, but Belgium’s quality exports don’t end there, as proven by Castles’ debut album ‘You, The Organ Grinder’. The two-thirds Belgian rockers, fronted by Brit vocalist / guitarist Edward Godby (formerly of Beecher), make a gloriously powerful racket that melds old school rock inflections to inventive song structures and intriguing lyrical nuances. ‘You, The Organ Grinder’ is bulging with ideas, but for all its idiosyncrasies and intricacies, it’s the raw, rock vigour summoned up by the driving riffs and rhythm section that truly makes this stand out. Ace stuff.
