Bottom Line: Grinds good, Fair price, looks nice. What more is it supposed to do?

Large hopper, easy to clean, simple single timer lever. Grinds fine to coarse with over 20 settings in between. You can get an almost fine powder grind for any espresso need. Fairly quiet. Looks expensive. Slow burr grinding means no heat. Never bitter.

Sometimes the lever on the side for setting the grind time falls off. Hey, so what.....it's Italian! I just put it back on and laugh. I don't find this an issue when compared to spending more for something that probably doesnt grind any better.

I normally don't write reveiws, just read them, BUT....I felt compelled to straighten out the ratings that this grinder is getting. I know that alot of the geeks here just like the Rancilio stuff and everything else is just taking up space, but I have to disagree with all of the negative reviews.  Every review is anecdotal as is mine. So maybe I just got the one good one they have ever made. I use this at least twice a day for the last 2 years and it is great!

I make espresso grind for my Breville espresso maker. I know, that will catch some flak, but I did buy a pressureless porta filter for it from the Seattle coffee company and it is just fine, so lay off!  LOL!
I have had several coffee makers and recently the one I like the most is my Kitchen Aid KCM223. Again the real test of a coffee maker is water temp , of which this excels.

I occassionally have to take it apart and clean it, but no biggie, I take my $40k car in for oil chages too. I have owned some lame burr grinders like the cuisinart and a blade grinder for about 10 minutes. This thing is heads and shoulders above those and grinds very evenly for my use.  I use oily beans without issue. So unless you are just needing to spend twice as much money, buy this and enjoy........it does what it is designed to do brilliantly!

Used a $100 gift cert from my daughter and paid the rest at the store. In and out in no time. would recommend Williams and Sonoma.
