Good home-use grinder, if used at a particular grind setting and you don't frequently switch between settings.

My initial intention was to buy Nuova Simonelli (NS) MCF grinder to use with my NS Oscar espresso machine. However, the company failed to provide the NS grinder and offered Ascaso instead, with a significantly lower price. The grinder produces good quality consistent grind for espresso. Compared to my commercial grinder La Spaziale Astro 12, there is no noticeable difference in the taste of espresso prepared with my NS Oscar Espresso Machine. In fact, La Spaziale does not have a stepless adjustment capability which is present in Ascaso. Ascaso can be adjusted by a worm drive mechanism, which allows the user to make very fine adjustments. However, due to this mechanism, many turns are required to change the grind setting from Turkish to French Press. This makes the grinder unsuitable for changing between grind settings. Also, there are no reference marks/numbers for the setting. I opened the plastic top cover and put arrow marks on the top burr holder. The change from espresso to french press requires 90 degrees rotation of the top burr, which can be followed by my marks on the top burr. However, to provide the 90 degree rotation, the adjustment screw has to be turned many tens of turns. There were no problems when I use the grinder only for espresso. But, I drink Turkish coffee frequently and sometimes prefer French Press. Due to the difficultly in changing grind settings, I finally quit, and decided to buy another grinder which can change settings very easily in seconds.
kahveekipmanlari offered this grinder to me, since they were unable to deliver the NS grinder I was requesting, after waiting for a long time.
