Bottom Line: Beautiful, sturdy machine

Aesthetically pleasing, perfect size for household use, grinds soft and fluffy.

Significant amount of grinds get stuck in chute.  If not experienced in using a stepless grinder, can be intimidating. A bit frustrating not knowing where to stop while looking for the perfect grind.

The Ascaso I Mini is infinitely better than the old Cuisinart I was using. I was extremely impressed with the quality of the grind even with my first try at the factory setting.  The coffee you purchase will also have a definite impact on taste.  It's a bit of a nuisance having to smack out the grinds that get stuck in the shoot but understand that this is the case with most grinders.  My preference would have been to do a physical comparison between the Ascaso I Mini and perhaps the Rancilio Rocky or similar grinder. Unfortunately, the area where I live offers no such espresso equipment so the only recourse was to read reviews.  However, I must say that so far I'm pretty satisfied with the Ascaso I Mini and think will do very nicely in the long run.

Bought at Seattle Coffee Gear. They are helpful and straightforward.
