We asked who made the best grinders in Naugatuck, and the people spoke.
On Wednesday, Naugatuck Patch launched our new weekly feature entitled, “Best Of,” where we solicit your thoughts on where to obtain the best item, like pizza, wings and other food, among our local businesses. In the spirit of Superbowl Sunday we decided to go with “best grinder.”
But while there were many comments about where to get the best grinder, not everyone agreed.
Many of our reader said that Nardelli’s Grinder Shoppe, often considered a Naugatuck staple, was the best location in the borough. But another sizable population also argued that Torino’s, a New Haven Road deli that opened in 2010, was also the best in Naugatuck.
And then there were a couple others: Fulling Mills Deli and Big Y’s deli area. Maybe these latter choices weren’t as common as Nardelli’s and Torino’s, but they both had their own following.
So, after reading all of your comments yesterday — as well as all of our comments you left on our Facebook page — we now delve into the second part of our series: putting it to the poll. Choose from the above-mentioned businesses, and we’ll announce the winner of the poll on Sunday.
