For someone doing drip coffee with a paper filter it's fine, and the timer means you don't need to measure scoops.
Burr grinder for whirly-blade price, timer operation
Too much dust, and too much static in the grounds container. Not worth full price
Before I knew better, I was pleased to have a 'burr grinder' and was only using it for drip and french press which it is perfectly capable of grinding for. For the price, don't expect consistency in the grind, or anything fine enough for espresso. I did find the timer worked well; whether on coarse or medium, the number of cups I set the timer on did correspond to the right number of scoops, so you could safely set it to your pot size, grind, and you already have your dose.
The dust is the worst part. Even on coarse grinding it spits a ton of dust. In this regard the static cling helps since in my grounds container the dust all stuck to the top area and I could scoop it away. There was still dust in the grounds though, which meant my french press would be silty. And the grounds container has a lot of static cling so it's always dirty looking.
Finding a refurb for $25 on Bestbuy.com was a bargain since a whirly-blade is $18-$20.
