Bottom Line: Thumbs down/  be wary of Primo in KY as vendor/ This product is in violation with US Customs regs/ hard to operate too

grinds coffee, albeit with a lot of work

This is too much work! The grinder will not hold steady while I turn the crank, and a small hand cannot hold the base securely.  The crank is designed for a right hander.  The ceramic burr will break with use.  The greatest complaint?  Instructions are in kanji characters. This was NOT designed for import into the US.  It shows no 'made in....therefore, has not adhered to US customs laws.  Is it safe? radioactive? who knows.  There is no lid either. It sits on a bell jar, has minimal pieces and the ceramic burr will break. To me this is overpriced.

This on-line company, Primo,  boasts a 'hassle free return' policy which included return shipping, and full shipping credit.  When I asked to return it (after 2 days), I was informed that 'this product does not qualify" WHAT???
Although I did ship it back, they have given no guarantee that it will be accepted.  How is that 'hassle free'? I am out $20 for the shipping charges and had the worst experience with this product.  Those who claim it gives an even grind?  I can only think they must have lots of time on their hands and a strong arm.  It was like arm wrestling, trying to turn the crank. A LOT of work..  My husband said the ceramic burr looked chipped to him.  So $38 for a bell jar with a crank and burr on top?  And something that was bought in Japan for the Japanese market... probably after the tsunami and nuclear disaster?  Something isn't right here.  I would not waste my time nor money on this product. Better to buy a burr grinder from Costco

I would not buy a hand crank grinder again. It is way too much effort for the results.  And I would exercise caution when ordering online. Will never buy from this vendor again. (Primo)
